Starring Shauna Macdonald (The Decent, Filth) and George Newton (This is England, Dead Mans Shoes), Alex Hardy's 'Soldier Bee' centres around Jodie and her journey through her own mind after enduring a near fatal accident whilst serving in Afghanistan.
Writing the music for 'Soldier Bee' was an absolute thrill ride from start to finish. As well as being a touching tale, there are so many disturbing psychological elements to the story, which lead to a heavy sound design approach when writing the theatrical score.
'Soldier Bee' was officially selected by Short of the Week in January 2018, and can be streamed for free via their website.
Synopsis: Jodie Baxter, a Captain returned home from Afghanistan, struggles to reconnect with her family and everyday life after being severely injured in the line of duty, an experience that has left her scarred both physically and on a deep psychological level.
